06/29/09  Two woman were transferred to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital after they were injured in a semi-truck accident in North Beaver Township early this afternoon. Both woman were occupants of a tanker-type cement hauler which rolled over on E. Poland Ave. near Mohawk School Road. One victim was air-lifted by Stat Medevac Helicopter to the Youngstown hospital while the other was transferred to the same hospital by ground ambulance. The highway, also known as Route 317, was closed for a short time while New Castle State Police investigated the accident. Rescue personnel from North Beaver Fire Department stated that the two women self-extricated themselves from the wreckage before they arrived on the scene.
